On February 15th and 16th, ISM was pleased to host over 130 students for ISMMUN 2024, our annual Model United Nations conference.

An educational model of the United Nations, MUN is used for simulations of real world UN procedures. Fostering diplomacy, public speaking and conflict resolution, MUN is now more important than ever for our students. This year’s conference was based around the theme of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 16: peace, justice and strong institutions, and ISM welcomed students from nine different schools, representing 28 country delegations. For the opening ceremony, we were honoured to welcome guest speaker Nicolas Ryter, who is currently Project Coordinator for Monaco Aide et Présence, a Monaco-based non-profit that finances projects in the fields of health and education across 10 countries.

Over the 2-day conference, delegates, chairs, co-chairs, assistants, admins and press officers worked together to create a unique learning experience for all involved. Students passionately lobbied resolutions and debated on topics in their debates in their committees of World Health Organization (WHO), Human Rights, ECOSOC, Security Council and Environment. We congratulate our MUN student leadership team and their teachers on an excellent conference for all involved!
