Pick-up and drop-off in Primary & Secondary

Kiss & Fly rules

With limited space in front of the school and many students arriving by car, “kiss and fly” is the most efficient way to manage the traffic flow. It is essential that ALL parents adhere to the following rules:

  • Rule #1: Remain at the wheel to save time, and be ready to move your vehicle with the flow.
  • Rule #2: Do not exceed 1 minute to prevent crowding the area.
  • Rule #3: Do not arrive earlier than you need to, as students are not out yet and this crowds the area.
  • Rule #4: Do not park directly in front of the school. This is the drop off / pick up area.
  • Please also try not to place school bags in the trunk, as this slows down the traffic flow.

Students arriving in the course of the year

Primary School - Kindergarten to Year 3

Students and their parents are welcomed at the port side Primary building entrance by the Head of School.

Students are then taken to their new classroom to meet their new teacher and classmates. Any food allergies will be double checked.

During the day they will be given an ISM school bag and an ISM water bottle. They will be told the ISM House they are in. The classroom teacher will ensure that the timetable, the class list and a covering letter concerning classroom organisaton and essential agreements go home at the end of the school day.

The Head of Year will take care to note that the newcomer settles and report anything to the Head of School.

The Head of School will schedule a meeting time with the parents to answer any questions or concerns or just to have a general chat.

Primary School - Year 4 to 6

In Primary School, new students are met at the reception by the Head of Primary School and accompanied to their classroom.

A “buddy” is assigned to them to help them settle in to their new school. They will meet both their teachers on their first day in school and receive a copy of their timetable as well as login details for all online resources that the Primary School is subscribed to.

Secondary School - Year 7 to 9

On the first day of school, students should arrive in correct school uniform with an appropriate pencil case by 8:15am. They will be met at the Secondary reception by their Head of Year.

They will be provided with a school bag, planner, their timetable as well as a username and password for their Google account and taken, by their Head of Year to their Homeroom.

Their Homeroom teacher will assign them a buddy within the class to help them in their first few days as they settle in and find their way around.

Secondary School - Year 10 to 13

On the first day of school, students should arrive in correct school uniform with an appropriate pencil case by 8:15am. They will be met at the Secondary reception by their Head of Year.

They will be provided with their timetable as well as a username and password for their Google account and taken by their Head of Year to their Homeroom. Their Homeroom teacher will assign them a buddy within the class to help them in their first few days as they settle in and find their way around.

They will receive their access key for the electronic doors within the first week.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

PTA representatives 2023/24

We are fortunate to have a very active and supportive Parent Teacher Association which contributes enormously to the organisation of major events and the running of various school projects.

All parents at ISM are automatically members of the PTA and are welcome to attend the monthly meetings.

The PTA Committee is made up of one parent representative per class who serves as a point of contact for the parents and represents the class at all PTA meetings. This person is also involved in helping with all PTA activities such as Christmas Crafts, the Summer Fête, class parties etc.

The PTA is always in need of volunteers, and all parents are encouraged to participate in any way they can. For new parents, the first opportunity to find out more about the PTA is to attend our monthly PTA meeting. Please do not hesitate to contact us at pta@ismonaco.com if you are interested in joining.
