On April 21st, the ISM French Department was delighted to hold the 3rd consecutive edition of their “Joutes Oratoires” online with King’s College School, Wimbledon.

24 students from Year 12 debated on a range of controversial and contemporary topics, including the current reform of the retirement age in France and freedom of the press. Two teams made it to the “grande finale” on an unknown motion (“Should we ban Artificial Intelligence in schools and universities?). The judges were particularly impressed by Nicholas’ (ISM) and Oliver’s (KCS) depth of argumentation and level of French, and they were named the winning team.

Well done to all participants for a wonderful afternoon of passionate and lively debates in French!
