ISM Youth Piano Competition - Saturday 21st June 2025
The ISM Youth Piano Competition, organised by the ISM Performing Arts Department and the PTA, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of pianists by providing a world-class platform for young talents to showcase their artistry. More than just a musical event, the competition is a transformative experience designed to inspire excellence, foster a deep love for music, and create a vibrant community where students aged 4 to 18 can grow, connect, and achieve their full potential.
Rooted in Monaco’s rich cultural heritage, the competition reflects the principality’s values of diversity, creativity, and excellence. It offers young pianists opportunities to refine their skills, gain invaluable performance experience, and develop resilience, discipline, and confidence. Through rigorous evaluation by esteemed judges, participants are encouraged to push their artistic boundaries while celebrating their individuality and creativity.

The competition will be open to pianists in the Principality and the limitrophe.

Here are the categories, with age/experience guidance, to select the correct category for the participant:
Young Artist: Foundation Level
Young Artist: Foundation Level – max. 2 minutes
(up to 6 years old | up to 2 years experience / approx. ABRSM Grade 1)
For the youngest performers beginning their artistic path.
Application Fee: 30€
Young Artist: Elementary Level
Young Artist: Elementary Level – max. 4 minutes
(up to 9 years old | 2–4 years experience / approx. ABRSM Grade 2-3)
For performers still early in their journey, but with growing musical understanding.
Application Fee: 40€
Emerging Artist Division
Emerging Artist Division – max. 5 minutes
(up to 12 years old | 4–6 years experience / approx. ABRSM Grade 4-5)
For performers who are beginning to shape their interpretive voice and technical skill.
Application Fee: 50€
Developing Artist Division
Developing Artist Division – max. 8 minutes
(up to15 years old | 6+ years experience / approx. ABRSM Grade 6-8)
For serious performers with considerable experience and expressive depth.
Application Fee: 60€
Concert Artist Division
Concert Artist Division – max. 10 minutes
(up to 18 years old | post–Grade 8)
For highly accomplished performers approaching a professional or conservatory level.
Application Fee: 70€
