As part of their annual focus on endangered species, the Early Years this year celebrated ‘Panda Day.’
Students learned that this peaceful creature is a global conservation icon and is affected by habitat loss and climate change. We adopted a panda, helping to support it in the wild. Each child produced a booklet on pandas and during the day there were Arts and Craft workshops for all. The highlight of the day was a live link with Amy, the Head Keeper at Edinburgh Zoo’s panda enclosure where the pandas were observed live on our giant screens. Our young students asked intelligent, thoughtful questions, reflecting an early awareness of environmental issues.
We were very proud of our young global citizens!
