FERMUN 2019 – Geneva

Where better for ISM students to practise the art of diplomacy and debate, than the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, where this year’s event - FERMUN - was co hosted by the Lycée International de Ferney-Voltaire.

With the opening ceremony held in the UN Assembly Hall in Geneva, the debates were held in the historically prestigious offices of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Our students collaborated with over 700 delegates from 58 schools and 28 countries, seeking solutions to the challenges facing society. The theme of the conference was ‘Building Sustainable and Resilient Societies’ with our students debating and passing resolutions with energy and enthusiasm; this being a bilingual conference, some of our delegates also acted as simultaneous interpreters.

Well done to our team for their passion and commitment to the Model United Nations movement and for being excellent ambassadors for our school.
