Chasing plastic at St Honorat

On Sunday 23rd June, Yersin club students braved the heat to collect plastic waste on Saint Honorat’s shoreline. They were on a mission to explore how plastic waste disposal has become out of control, resulting in severe pollution of all marine and coastal areas. The island is itself significantly affected by this modern age plague. They then met with the monks of the Lérins Abbaye to learn about their 15 years programme to protect the island’s unique environment and historical heritage, and about their ongoing bid to get the entire island listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

Congratulations to our students for their dedication and effort.
