The PYP also recognizes the importance of developing skills and believes that these are best developed in the context of authentic situations. The students will acquire skills relevant to the discipline of individual subject areas, however, in order to conduct purposeful inquiry and to be prepared for lifelong learning, students need to master a whole range of skills which transcend the subject areas.
